Description
Perfect fluffy Basmati rice, steamed and flavored with butter! Stir some cilantro in after fluffing for a fresh, bright note.

- 1 cup basmati rice
- 2 cups water
- 3 tablespoons butter, divided
- 1 teaspoon salt
- Fresh cilantro, coarsely chopped
Instructions
- Rinse the water under cold water for about 1 minute. Transfer to a saucepan with a lid; cover with water and add 1 tablespoon of butter and the salt. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat; once boiling, reduce the heat to a simmer, cover and cook for 15 minutes. Check the rice after 15 minutes; if it is not tender, continue cooking for another 5 minutes, adding a little more water if necessary. Add the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter, cover and let stand for 5 minutes. Fluff with a fork right before serving and stir in the chopped cilantro.
