It’s my favorite time of year…blood oranges are coming to the stores, guys! Just kidding, Christmastime is the best, but this is a close second.  I have an excess of blood oranges (stock up while they’re in season!), a half-full bottle of Champagne and it’s Wednesday so I feel no guilt about drinking these outside the brunching hour. Speaking of brunch, add this one to your weekend or Christmas morning menu (get it, it’s festive red).  A sprig of rosemary would make this especially festive.  This one is my new favorite!

Description

For a twist on your classic mimosa (and a beautiful display), change out the orange juice for blood orange juice!


Ingredients

Scale
  • Scant 1/2 ounce Grand Marnier
  • Dash of Angostora or orange bitters
  • Champagne, prosecco, cava or other sparkling wine
  • 1 ounce blood orange juice

Instructions

  1. Add the Grand Marnier and a dash of bitters to a champagne flute.  Top off with Champagne until your glass in 3/4 full.  Pour the blood orange juice on top and enjoy!
