Never Not Hungry

On Sundays We Brunch: Series 13

Welcome to On Sundays We Brunch Series Twelve!  I’m hoping this will be a time for us to talk about life like we’re really sitting together over brunch and share favorites…articles, recipes, products, books, inspiration, whatever it may be!

Brunch is my favorite because the spirit is light, you have the whole day ahead of you afterwards, and all food is fair game and it often involves champagne.  Urban Dictionary defines brunchin’ as “Midday lunchin’ acting a fool in the mid-morning to lunch time”.  Could there be a more fitting description?

Grab a mimosa, pull up a chair and let’s chat!  Oh, and if anyone wants to act a fool, I’m game.

There’s a store here in Des Moines that has a whole table of products devoted to ranch dressing.  Could anything be more Midwestern?  I almost bought the ranch bib because I cannot eat a meal without spilling something on myself…and I love ranch dressing.  It seemed like a perfect combination.  Aside from the fact that it was sized for a small child…

Is anyone else just dying for spring?!  I cannot wait to exit hibernation mode, get outside and especially for the farmer’s market!!

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT…FROM THE BLOG LAST WEEK:

Open-Faced Green Goddess Tuna Melts

White Chocolate Bread Pudding

March 2019 Cookbook Clique

Asparagus and Brie Tarts with Thyme Honey

Chicken Marsala with Mustard-Mascarpone Sauce

Banana Crumb Muffins

THE BEST THING I ATE ALL WEEK:

I tried a new sushi restaurant this week and it did not disappoint!  I finally found a close approximation of my very favorite sushi roll of all time, which has shrimp tempura inside and seared filet mignon on top.  It’s heavenly and I haven’t had it for years.  The version I had the other night was close enough to sell me on making this restaurant my new sushi spot.

RECIPES I’M LOVING:

WHAT’S COMING NEXT WEEK:

A Guinness beef stew just in time for St. Patrick’s Day, beer bread, one more squash recipe before spring has sprung, a mushroom croque monsieur and my favorite monster cookies!  Plus I’m going to (finally) recap my trip to Provence.  And, of course, join me next Sunday for another On Sundays We Brunch series!

A REMINDER FROM OLIVER, BIRDIE AND I:

“You have no idea what your legacy will be. Your legacy is what you do every day. Your legacy is every life you’ve touched, every person whose life was either moved or not. It’s every person you’ve harmed or helped. That’s your legacy.”-Maya Angelou via Oprah
